its kinda ugly if you ask me, and I want to paint it black satin, so heres where I need advice, should I strip the old paint completly or should I sand the current paint to ruff it up and then primer and paint it?

IMO it depends on how "raised" those stripes are.

If you want it all uniform finish in black, and the stripes are raised a bit, they will show up even in all black. I would take it down as much as possible w/ paint remover/sanding combo and re-primer, and paint as u want it.

Just my opinion.

If the strips are not raised, i guss just sanding would be ok as long as you ruff it up and re-primer too. I f you want it "candy" lookin, lay some silver first.

~2cents. ;D

Its painted right, cause i know if it was powder coating then it be a lot harder to strip it.

just sandblasting, which isnt hard by a long shot.  i'd probably blast it anyhow to get a nice clean surface

I bought some foam spray stripper, spay on leave it alone for 20 mins and bam its all gone.

I just sprayed it on its allready bubbling up pretty good.

so primer, then wetsand, primer again, wet sand it again, then paint?

since its black satin do I want to sand inbetween coats?

I woulda bought a sandblaster but I dont have an air compressor yet.
