paco
Just curious if anybody here uses sub sonic filters. I have never used them but I'm pretty sure there are some of you out there that have used them. So what are your opinions on them? Are they worth buying? I was reading the manual for the Kicker L7's that I bought and a subsonic filter is recommended. 1996 Impala, just a weekend toy Molesting the wicked streets of chitown (next in line for sounds) 2006 Corolla...current audio head ache and money pit Alpine cda 9881 head unit pioneer 6x9's Hiphonics 6.5 components power acustik tweeters Not installed but in the to install list: Hifonics Brutus BXI 2080D 2600 watts rms 2 12" Kicker L7's Dual 4 ohm subs wired at 2 ohms each = 1 ohm load 0 gauge wire, MLA module
Nightshade
Yes I use my subsonic. You want to set it where you want the bass frequency to cut off at and not play bass notes below. Like I have mine set to 30 hz, which means that the amp cuts power at freq's 30 hz and below to help save your subs from damage. I say use it for a daily setup, but if you plan on burping it then you will want to turn it off. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz

paco
I'm looking to build a box tuned at 38 hz, but being an old guy that always built sealed boxes, I'm gonna do my best to learn more about ports in order to get it right the first time, even though If the box doesn't come out as good as I want it, I have the tools to remake it. 1996 Impala, just a weekend toy Molesting the wicked streets of chitown (next in line for sounds) 2006 Corolla...current audio head ache and money pit Alpine cda 9881 head unit pioneer 6x9's Hiphonics 6.5 components power acustik tweeters Not installed but in the to install list: Hifonics Brutus BXI 2080D 2600 watts rms 2 12" Kicker L7's Dual 4 ohm subs wired at 2 ohms each = 1 ohm load 0 gauge wire, MLA module
