Pioneer Thumb Drive?

i have a dvh-p4000dvd. sometimes my thumb drive doesn't work. the deck detects it but no sound comes out. if i switch sources, and try to go back to it, it doesn't detect it. i remove it and still doesn't detect. only if i turn off the car and start it again will it work. anyone know why? thanks any and all help would be appreciated.

there might be something wrong with your thumb drive
