01tahoeman Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Why do people never recomending having 2 or more subs connected to a amp terminal? im not really sure how to word this. more than one speaker wire connecting to a single positive or negative terminal. like having (2) 400 watt subs to a 800 watt amp. Boon Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 It depends if you're talking specifically about ohm loads. If you wired 4 dual 2 ohm coiled subs to one set of outputs you'd get 0.25 ohms and unless the amp was something pretty special it would go pop... 10.x volts fo' life!

If you wired 4 dual 2 ohm coiled subs to one set of outputs you'd get 0.25 ohms and unless the amp was something pretty special it would go pop... you could also get a 1 ohm load with four dual 2 subs .......... wire each sub to 4 ohm and parallel them to the amp for a final ohm load of 1 ohm. 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative.
