Starting My A-pillars

Nothing wrong with walmart fleece, I had bought some too. Once you get your speaker platforms glued and screwed to the pillar, sit with the pillar in your lap and stretch the fleece over it to see how it goes before you start attaching it. That is the point I got to and decided that the fleece was too difficult for me to work with and went to my closet for an old t-shirt instead.

Fleece is thicker and will soak up more resin, so be prepared to mix up a bigger batch of resin.

Here is my post, might help you with ideas.

yea i looked at your post man.

im about to throw some pictures up of what i started with, but i decided i didnt like them to much and was dissatisfied with them not being perfect being as i only have one set of a-pillars right now, and they fact i forgot they was in the rain last night.

when i get my jasper jig and my plunge router back ill be set. gonna call the guy who has it tonight and see if i cant get it back in the morning.

EDIT: can i use particle board for them?? i got some birch from work but i didnt like the way it looked inside the speaker rings, and was wanting a more of a MDF look even though they wont be seen its still something i would rather do.

this is what i cut freehand with my trim router ( made for veneer :( ) at work. they wasnt perfect but it was okay cause i was just testing out the "flush mount" tutorial idea that steve did. it didnt come out to bad but i didnt like them. If anyone wants i can get a picture of the 6.5's in there so you can get a idea of how much they arent perfect.

And this is kinda like the placement im looking for.

If you decided to use a 6.5" or two per pillar, I would definitely make them out of MDF for the pure strength of it.

no... Should be ar work by then. gimme a call and if you got a way to keep it dry from the rain you can get it tonight. I would have to go measure but the biggest piece is around 3' by 4' or 5' or so. I also have a few smaller pieces that are around 2'x 4' or so...
