Forevrbumpn
So my truck tonite got stuck in 4x4 low. I was at on a driveway, facing downward, it was wet, and I always drive the truck in 2wd. Because of the angle, and how close I was to the other car in front of my, I switched to 4x4 so I would have better traction going up with out hitting the car in front of me did it, and drove out, went to switch to 2wd, it would just blink and go back to 4x4 low So now I'am stuck in 4x4 low, not really wanting to go over 40 mph When I turn, I get the grinding jumping feeling, knowing that my front wheels are engaged, and I cant un lock it, get out of 4x4 anyone know what could be wrong? this is lowered with lowered spindles, I know that is also a contributing problem there I know 4x4s shouldnt be lowered, but the kit is for the truck, shouldnt be any problems am I screwed? Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Forevrbumpn
So I went under the truck, but I cant see a whole lot because its lowered, and my jack is shit... Maybe I will ask my regular mechanic to go unlock it for me for $20 bucks I see there is a lot of current at the fuse, I'am getting sparks like crazy, and the lights dim a little bit when I switch to 2wd... SO, I'am assuming its the switching solenoid Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. Blue
It sounds like what happened to my step dad on his dodge after off roading one day. I'm guessing that it is an independent front axel. Try getting on you belly with a flash light and check to see if your cv boots are ok. If they are, then i have no idea, if they are not, you probably lost the ball bearings, and the ball bearing cage. I'm only goin off of experience here, so it could be your problem or its not. Just my 2¢. Quote formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. trainman0978
Most 4Wds will disengage if you have it in 4lo , get it rolling about 5 m.p.h. in reverse, and shift into neutral with the regular shifter first. Then shift in neutral with the 4wd shifter ( if you have it )....then into 2wd. Stop... pull forward a little bit.... then back up a few feet again... Should completely disengage. I would NOT be rolling 40 m.p.h. in 4lo in any vehicle. 4hi maybe, but certainly not 4lo.... 4 lo is used for needed a high torque, low speed, need for high traction situations only...and NEVER on pavement Edited November 27, 2008 by trainman0978 Quote 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Voo Doo Blue my upgrades and "build" thread.
