Fi Bl 15 Unboxing.

I figured I do an unboxing on my Bl 15s for the people who have been wanting to see one. When I was looking into getting one and couldnt find any real good pics on them it gave me the idea to do this for other future customers of Scott.

To start off with Scott has some of the best customer Service Iv ever had. Its the first time I was able to actualy talk to the owner and the creater of any audio equiptment Iv bought. Great person to deal with and killer built product.

Ok enough ass kissing lets get to the unboxing.

Some tattooing on the Escape that Scott sent.

Came in the usual brown cardboard box.

I opened up the box and there sits a hoody Scott threw in for me.

Cant send the sub with out some nice propaganda and a good lookin decal.

Hoody looks sick.

Cant ever say that Scott never gave me anything.

The sub comes packaged with a nice foam surround to keep it from being knocked around in the box.

Had a pretty cool cuby hole to cradle the magnet in place. I also had to literaly rip the foam peices off to get the sub out. Seems pretty secure to me.

Sub comes wrapped in a heavy plastic to protect it from anything that might damage or get on it before instalation.

The paper cone and foam surround that Iv always been skeptical about turned out to be a realy thick pulp fiber cone with very heavy foam surround. Cone was also covered in a gorgous gloss black and everything was lined up on the sub perfectly streight.

Mounting depth is pretty deep on this sub, The double stack magnets and cast aluminum basket make this sub alot heavier than you would think.

As you can see there is no more tensil lead slap problem as they are now mounted wither inbetween or under the spiders.

The 3 progressive spiders make the suspension onthis sub extremly stiff. Thus meaning its gonna take alot of power to move this thing.

Here you can see my flatwind copper coil over the aluminum spool.An upgrade option for more power handling.

The back of the sub has a beautiful aluminum finish on the backside of the magnets and on the basket.

Once again you can see how wide the double stacked magnets are.

The subs them selves took about 12 day sto get to me including thanksgiving weekend. Pretty fast shipping for something that was custom built from ground up to meet my expectations.

I have fallen in love all over again. This is a great sub that is very affordable, well built, and has one sexy but agressive look to it. When you top all of this off with Scotts killer customer service you have one hell of a car audio company.

I will be testing them over the next couple weeks and following up on the performace of them. So keep posted in interested in a first person point of view about the Fi Audio Bl subwoofer.

i want to get a set of fi 15's but dont want power hogs, are the ssd's rms pritty low? i mean im lookin at around 1000-1500 at most till the kids born n gets a lil older, i think my amp puts out 1100 watts @ 1ohm so someweres around 400-500rms each? just somethin a lil louder than my 8000's, they got the same basket pritty much the same as the bl's u got could u recone one to a fi? cause my buddy has one that looks like its been ran to hell and back that i could get for like $20 and could i recone to an fi of some sort? its a 12 spoke basket with double stack magnets?

I reccomend that instead of selling your SAZ1500D and getting a 3000D that you just buy another 1500D. Two 1500's will be louder than a single 3000. What coil configuration did you get on the woofers? If you got dual 1's you could run a 1500D to each woofer at .5 ohms even for daily and be okay. That's what I do to my Nightshade 12's and it doesn't hurt the amps a bit. If you got dual 2's you may be better off running a single 3000D at .5 ohms. That is the only way I'd reccomend running a 3000 over 2 1500's.

nice man!!! looks like Fi's a great company to deal with, awesome he tossed in that hoody, can't wait to see the build, should be awesome and i'm sure everyone will reconmend going with a sundown 3000 over the 1500, they're going to be power hungry as you said earlier
