What kind of metal do i use?

does it matter if it is ground or power?

Does it matter how long the bar is, will the ones on the far end get less power?

Can you go from 8 guage being the main, and run 18 guage off the bar?

Material wise, Copper is the best type to use as it passes the most amount of current through out.

No, doesnt matter how long the bar is unless its like in excess of like 10 ft. All should get equal power.

And why would you be making a bus bar to run 8gauge into it then have 18 gauge come off it it???

You want either all 1/0+ for bigger amps that accept 1/0 and 4 gauge for smaller amps that are primarily used for speaker amplification.

To me, It doesnt seem like you know exactly how buss bars work. I would suggest you find someone to make them for you or do a bit more research before doing them.

I am going to be running a shit load of leds and i dont want to run them all direct to the battery, and i thought that 8 guage wire would be enough for that, then to 18 guage.

just put all ur power wire together and put it in the block same for the ground

put them all into one or two spots of the distro block. tape the ends together or put a plastic sleeve on em so it all looks nice and pretty at the tip. the blocks just have a screw in them that will screw all the way in, so it'd eventually grab the wire either way

If you want a buss bar, make a buss bar. Who cares who did what or if it's 1/0 or friggin' 22ga wire.

go to menards. they have tiny bussbars for grounds i beleive. i think it takes up to a 12 gauge wire. they have like 10 spots for wires or more.
