gotFI?
i had some 8 ga speaker wire outside in the rain for a day or two. the open tips were exposed to water, is the wire bad or still useable?
Aaron813
Still usable what brand is it most brands have a water protective coating to keep water out and it is really not easy for the wire to soak water thru the ends of it
AI James
id throw it away and use another piece, why risk equipment on somethign so cheap?
HHR Ed
its just metal and plastic. water dries off. If there was any corrosion on the end, just cut the end off. Forevrbumpn
your talking about the copper exposed ends being corroded, right? just cut the tips off, your fine. I have about 10 cuts of 8 gauge laying in my driveway for the last 5 months... lol I just haven't picked them yet Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. wildbeast15
i had 16gauge laying outside for about 4 years..... a buddy stole it because i said i just put it out there lol... he uses it daily and its fine.... he did what they said and cut the tips off.. Quote The set up your talking about would sound great in my Tahoe. Trade you my dog for it. He has one eye but that only makes for bad depth perception so hey so what if he is running into shit, look at it this way he is easy to sneak up ninja style on. Gq85
id throw it away and use another piece, why risk equipment on somethign so cheap? How do you know it's cheap? He could have spools of wire. I would just cut the ends like it's been suggested.
gotFI?
its not corroded, just damp. was wondering if the water made its way throw to the center of the wire causing a bad cable.
