Will I Need Another Battery?

Recommended Posts

The new system thats getting installed will be around 6000w RMS to bass, if all goes according to plan. I currently have one Kinetic 2400 in the trunk, but I was wondering if I should install another one in the trunk as well.

I dont really want to change my alternator as yea, but what battery is good for under the hood? Thanks.

With running 6k watts for just bass alone, I would definitely get a bigger alternator because unless you do alot of parking lot pimping, 2 batteries in the trunk isn't going to help much. I know everyone else here says Optima Yellow tops but I have a Carquest NGK battery under the hood and I have never had a problem with it.

Ok, so I looked it over.

This is what I am going to run:

1 KHC1400 under the hood

2 KHC 2400 in the trunk

Big 3.

Sound Good?

**Is it possible to run the batteries in parallel, then at the last battery, run the power to a capacitor, and run everything off of the capacitor? Also, since you are running the batteries parallel, do you still need to ground off the second battery and the capacitor to the chassis? Thanks.

get rid of the capacitor. keep the batteries though. look into the MLA module to keep them fully charged.
