Forevrbumpn Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 I like watching tv shows about this stuff. They say like Boon said, faster you go, everything else speeds up around you, yet, you go slower. For example, take a trip to the closest stars, like Sirius, which is something like 4.5 light years away, if we went at the speed of light, we would only see hours, or maybe weeks go by, while people here on earth would see years go by- The whole physics with time, space, and gravity is a big trip, some of it I think is just to hard to believe, but I guess for the most part, the proof is in the cosmos, and on paper Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Red-navi-916 Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 if u were to hop on a speed of light*i guess i will put it that way* and went around the world and came back we would all be dead and for u it would be like a blink of an eye... although it would really be hella hella years later Quote BUILDLOG http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61862 "98crewcab"Never a POS....just always "a work in progress" lol that's how we roll bitches!!! Red-navi-916 Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 thats what my highschool teacher told me....i still remember that cuz it was my question... but i guess not everyone is right.. Zade08 Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 I want to jump in on this. Some one correct me if Im wrong. Its been a while since Iv taken and astronomy class. A light photon has zero mass there for it moves at "the speed of light". Since a human being can not have a zero mass we can not theoretically move at the speed of light. But if we where to have a negative mass then we could technically move faster than the speed of light. Does this sound right? Zade08 Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Also I thought it was cool that some of the stars we see in our night sky have actually been burnt out for millions of years but since there millions of light years away it takes the light that long to get to our eyes. There for we are actually seeing into the past. ;-) Quote Vehicle: 2001 Ford Escape Head Unit: Kenwood Kdc-x592 All out for a rebuild. New shit coming in the next 30 days.
Kian Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) 40,075.02 KM is the earth circumference. so 1000 meters is 1 KM. and 299,792,458 m / s is the speed of light. so multiply 40,075.02 by 1000 to get the meters = 40,075,020 Meters is the Circumference of the earth. Then divide 40,075,020 Meters by 299,792,458 Meters to get 0.133675877 seconds ? I think this is it. edit... and for a human to blink 100 to 150 milliseconds thats .1 to .15 of a second...
