11BangBang
I am going to run dual alts , dual batteries on an 01 Tahoe. What is the best way to wire it to keep seperate alt, batt for stereo. Will the amps off a 220 amp alt straight to second battery, blow the fuses on amps. Hooking up alt to side post terminal, and amps off top post. Noobtastic14
if your doing a setup on 12v wire it all together- if your doing 16v then go about separate bats and alts for system and car. -Drew Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. 11BangBang
i asked a simular question a lil ways back and this is what i got should help I thought running parallel you needed to exact same batteries, mine are almost the same, one red top optima on the truck, and a second yellow top deepcycle, I was going to use for the stereo. Are theses batteries compatable for wiring parallel. And if my other battery is in the back of my Tahoe what is the best way to run them together. dmanson
+ on the front battery to the + to the rear battery(s) ........ fuse no more than 18 inches from the front battery and no more than 18 inches before the rear battery(s). you should be good. you'll be good with the yellowtops although for their price you could get kinetik or powermaster. 11BangBang
If batteries are parallel does it matter if each alternator is run to seperate batteries. Just to confirm it will not hurt the alternators to connect them to each other then run them to the battery.
