This will lower the ohm load. in the case of 2) 4 ohm loads, it will half it. here is a formula (R1 x R2) / (R1 + R2) = final ohm load Now you can also do a series circuit. this is + of one sub to the amp, - of the other sub to the amp, then connect the remaining + and - together. This will result in the impedance being added together so in the case of 2) 4 ohm loads you have 8 ohms. Torres Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 if you had one single voice coil sub at 4 ohms and wired it up, it'd stay 4 ohms. wire another one in parallel, and it goes down to 2 ohms. wire it in series and it goes to 8 ohms. Quote
kickasskid544 Posted January 29, 2009 Author Report Posted January 29, 2009 thanks every1 for clearing that up i knew almost everything you guys said accept how the ohm load went up never knew that but my buddy didnt know any of it he thought if you had 2 4 ohm subs and you wired them to 1 channel it stayed 4 ohms so i had to clear that up with him Quote

It goes for any electrical load. like motors, resistors, light bulbs. its a basic rule of electricity.
