civichatch
hey everyone i dont no if this is where im suposed to post this question so move me if im wrong. I have been looking for some cheap sound deadining material and ive been told that foam bed topping works. It is easy to cut to size and they are bendable. Now wat do you guys think, and should i go this route for under $50. Its just for the back end of my civic hatch, and will just be in the tire well and hatch on my car.?? wat do u guys think. Heres a link of the kinda stuff im looking at but i will be buying it locally and probably go wit the 2 inch thick stuff. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00...en-20/ref=nosim Quote System Specs: Alpine SWR-1542D 15" sub Sealed Subwoofer Box MTX mxa 6001 Class D 774watts RMS @ 2ohms MTX Bass Knob Pioneer 6.5's in doors MTX Thunderdome 6x9 in rear Stinger 1 Farad capacitor 80 amp stinger fuse BIG 3 in 4 gauge wire 4 gauge power/ground wire JVC MP3 CD Car Deck (KD-G320) 12 gauge Monster speaker wire to Sub 16 gauge Stinger speaker wire to doors Stinger Gold Plated Battery Terminals
sean 371
There are a load of cheaper alternatives to dynamat. i'd go with something intended to deaden sound. plus its a hell of a lot thinner than 2". more like 1/4" Quote A couple links to some box builds: Tahoe Box 1, Tahoe Box 2, Nissan Titan, VW GTI, Mini-Bump, Hummer H2, Ford F-150 My own car builds (current setup --- under construction): Overall Thread, Kickpods, Dash, Back Doors Subwoofer Wall

civichatch
k thanks alot i will go down to home depot tommorow. i cnat really use spray foam in the tire well cause i still gotta be able to take my spare tire out if needed. I acctually made the board under the sub/amp on hinges so half of it lifts and the otha half stays stationary. Makes it easy to access spare tire. J.w do u have a link on this gutter guard i searched the home depot site and came up wit no results and searched google. Thanks. agent_orange
I've never been able to find it on Home depot's website. The stuff is call Protect-O-Wrap at my Home depot and alot of people refer to it as peel-and-seel. It's located in the roofing section next to the gutters. It has a silver back and is a black asphault based rubber. If you can't find it at home depot lowes carries it as well.

LSN2meBoom916
If you look in the build of my car you can see how I did it w/ a combo of dynamatt material (Cascade) and foam in between the interior panels. NO rattle @ all. If you check the pics its pretty self explanitory but ask away if you still got Q's.
