doug118
I think the best way to do it is to sand them down with some fine grit sandpaper to get as much as the factory clear as possible, then wipe them down with gasoline to clean any dust or residue left, use a self etching primer to make sure the paint will stick well, then paint black.. but do MANY light coats. and when I say many I mean like 6-8 and as far as light, the whole wheel shouldn't be fully covered until the 3rd or 4th coat. the first couple should be more like a dusting Quote 2001 Tahoe. BassBoy69
I think the best way to do it is to sand them down with some fine grit sandpaper to get as much as the factory clear as possible, then wipe them down with gasoline to clean any dust or residue left, use a self etching primer to make sure the paint will stick well, then paint black.. but do MANY light coats. and when I say many I mean like 6-8 and as far as light, the whole wheel shouldn't be fully covered until the 3rd or 4th coat. the first couple should be more like a dusting gas? does that work? I always use some rubbing alcohol. Yeah you deffently wanna do light coats and let them cure, I painted them one at a time and used a big space heater to heat the paint,.. I also ran very hot water on the can to get the paint nice and warm, went on alot better. o yeah, if you cant get the tires off like me, paitn the rims on the flat side only of course, but use tire wet on the tires and the paint will never stick, just wipe it away,.. it was easy and i didnt feel like taping them Edited March 2, 2009 by BassBoy69 Quote 144+ DB'S OUT OF A CONVERTIBLE 12" Funky Pup Subwoofer (The worlds most powerful subwoofer) 6" Aero Ported Box Hifonics - Bxi2010-D Pioneer Deck RD Audio - Front Speaker Rockford Fosgate - Rear Speakers KnuKonceptz - 0 Gauge Wire KnuKonceptz SS Karma - 10 Gauge Sub Wire KnuKonceptz - Krystal Kable Rca Big 3 - Upgrade - 0 Gauge Kinetik - Hc1800 Battery
