i was considering of doing that but then i thought about it if i do it right everything should be fine its not a thing that happens on a daily.. but if any of us were to fuse how big u think we should go? or it just depends?

I would fuse the wire to prevent the battery from blow up while driving. That would be so horrible to see the cars set up fire. Just use 300 amp fuse and you will be good. The big 3 very eazy to do if you got the knowledge and tools.

That's only If the wire grounds out, if that's the case your car will shut off. Happend to me in my crx when the battery post cam in contact with my air intake. Pretty much the same thing as something grounding the wire from my alt to my batt.

In my silverado, and my crx, there is virtually no way to some how cut through the insulation on my wire to cause it to ground. That would be my only fear to use a fuse. But I am also using welding wire, which also has a cardboard like material separating the outer insulation from the copper. Which I would suggest using because it's is rated for extreme heat. If your power cable were to rest on a hot surface on your engine it stands a better chance then CA cable.

I wouldn't fuse the alt to the batt. As you stated before, it's just to make you feel better. It's also always a good idea to have a digital voltage meter reading your voltage at all times.
