The Big Oki Posted February 23, 2009 Report Share Posted February 23, 2009 Hey there, I hope my little section here will not be erased one day bc nothing new is going on... But I am still there and busy like never before. I just ran out of time. Today I came back from a huge Car Show in Paris where I was a part of a demo show (or should I say DEMOLITION Show) what advertised dB Drag and Bass Race (and I was close to be beat by a french guy what was able to beat me with his HUGE and REALLY LOUD DEMOCAR! (Stephane Ret). I was sweating, believe me, but this (last?) time I went away with the victory. I know he will give me a REAL hard time in the future (bc I cannot change my equipment for this year ) but finnally I found a REAL competition partner! (He uses 12 "old" HiFonics Colossus FE and 8 18" ESX 80 pound woofers and broke one windshield on saturday, HES CRAZY! But in a good way!) The crowd flipped out sometimes when we did 2 shows a day, and some demos between. We put a paper onto my windows says "Demo Shows every 2 hours, girls with long hair needed". If you believe it or not, at the time, people started to gather around at the times! Just for a "one song" demo and some hairtricks! UNBELIEVEABLE! Like in the old days. So mostly I put the car in the middle of the "Show Arena" and put 2 girls on each side of the opened doors so that everybody was able to see it. I may put some pics online somewhere and share the link. I am totally exhausted now and have lots of important work waiting, so please be patient. Maybe my partner BOX (dB Drag affiliate France) will have pics on his site soon also. So this year I am still with my "old" biggest (so far) sponsor ACR and do demo shows as well as official dB Drag shows (as judge). Shedule is always becoming more and more full. Also I may become a bit more involved into "dB Drag Racing" Organisation, what will bring way more stress to my everyday work. But hey, its my life... Next thing is, that I consider to become the official ZAPCO Distributor for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and maybe BeNeLux. All of these 3 things are huge for themselves. On top I still plan my big Mammut Üüüühh!!! Event in the summer with a target of 300 Event participations. Man, and I thought I will come to a rest one day. People who say Car Audio and competitions are dying, have no real clue! We have about 150 "SPL" Style competitions here in Germany a year. Not mentioned the SQ competitions and not even considered about THINKING about the "no real competition format style" events. And if this all is not enough, I am still thinking about building a new car for a new sponsor , maybe on 2010. Not sooo much SPL related or maximum capable of Bass Race (Peak around 156 and Bass Race 149,9 or so). But nice with more multimedia and stuff. Lets see, Year and season is starting, plans are there and it will be not biring for ME. MAYBE for you when you want to read more in my little section here. But I am here EVERY day and I will still do that. And I am so happy that I am here, and find a new buddy from time to time who likes my things I am doing. Üüüühh!!! Michael www.SQPL.de Rulez! Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait. You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do. The next built is not soooo important. First I want to finish my actual car, biggest and most expensive project so far, and I think it will never be bigger (you must consider ALL costs around). I want to put in these 19 ZAPCO 9.0 Amps but I need other woofers. And this is not possible at the moment bc of the sponsorship (doesnt have JUST advantages). No misunderstanding, these subs I use are GREAT! I just have 9000 Watts using now and can compete with music against others wit 3 times the power,bigger boxes, 5 times the batteries, more cone area and woofers. But I need my special impedances for all these special amps. And THEN I have to put in more batteries (still space for 5 more batts) and cannot drive legally anmore. So it will be a thing not for every day. But its on my to do list, even if it takes til 2011 to make it happen. Equipment (amps and basically subs) is laying around here already. Thats the smallest problem lol... Ok, I may uploade 10 pics for you or so... But it still will take a while. Üüüühh!!! Michael www.SQPL.de Rulez! Means, no fence or something what keeps people in distance. People like to touch the cars when they play, to feel the vibrations or stick their head inside the car and ran away bc its too loud (and then see only 10 Watts on the displays in the back LOL). But once it was too much this week. They went into the car with their backpacks, metal zippers, drinks, they tried to touch the buttons ir adjust the radio... It was unbelievable and not possible to control them. I had to but a band onto the doors, but still they creeped around everything even with the notices "no public passage". 2nd day I had to put it behind the fence. It was sad, but neccessary. In the last 2 years I got so many scratches in the paint and in the install (car was relatively new) and the aluminum coating is damn expensive and not really easy to exchange... Thats the life of a show car, I accept that, but people should behave a little and treat stuff what is not their own as IF it was their own. Or these kind of demo vehicle will dissappear. Good thing is, when displays start to show 100 Watts each and more, they keep distance by themselves LOL. But then the relation of complaints from other booths around start to raise... ANOTHER funny thing was: There were some deaf mute people at the show. They recognized the vibes of my car (the facility was about 150 meters long (450? feet) and found their way to my car. They sticked around for half an hour or so and smiled like fresh born babies. So they made me know that they like the "massage" of their guts/belly without hearing anything. Heck, they even boutght 4 or 5 of the street video DVDs my friend was selling right next to me. Maybe they thought I was playing these songs LOL. I should ask for some money hahaha... Üüüühh!!! The new tweeter pods. No burned tweeters anymore (powered by a ZAPCO 9.0) Made the 90 000 km full Cleaning in Paris. Got a little help. 450 miles through salty roads, brr... First two days in a different show hall Just played it half power and after 20 seconds they complained and shut me down Recordings for french TV Finally in the right hall, but demos caused protests also... yes, the car is there, surrounded by too much people to handle... Nice Mademoisselles from the booth across Found their way to my car, of course Show SPL time Demoing after each show contest Of course with nice french girls. Stephane et moi Stephane Ret, Stephane Boite (BOX, with 3x ear protection) and me Grand Malheur! The Window Killer (No 11 this year I heard) Putting in window in front of the spectators. Good show off! (He bought 2 shields) Not to mention there is serious Power (from the Gods) behind what drives the 8 18"... Last free view before new windshield Everybody is a winner! It was a great show from Wednesday to Sunday. Exhaustung but good. My car got good attention, and of course the other cars too. Together we promoted dB drag very good. Next time we do that for show purposes will be in Cologne Germany mid of April at Europes biggest Car Stereo Eshibition. Üüüühh!!! Michael www.SQPL.de Rulez!
