sodfamily Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Well I just found out from the MAN that I have a 50/50 shot of losing my job in the next two weeks. I have had a good run (12 years) in my current field (telecommunications) and was thinking of making a change. Good thing is if I get layed off I will have about 5-6 months of normal regular pay. So I have some wiggle room. Dose anyone know of any schools that will get a brother certified to give me a better chance of getting a install job. I have been doing this stuff for about 20 years but really don't know anything solid, just your basic back yard dabbler. I am not looking to get rich or anything just a career change and try something new. Mtgrooves Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Most of my installers went to Mobile Dynamics in AZ. The Shoe Maker without shoes!
Armoredhaulin Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 the best thing isnt realy training. its the reputation that you have. Agreed. Just because someone can say they are MECP certified doesn't mean that they know what the hell they are doing. I have seen some of the worst installs ever from "certified" installers. Even tho I myself am "certified" (or was, never bothered to renew it) I rely on my reputation of high quality work techniques to speak for me. "I don't bullshit. I do what I say & say what I mean." http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2925230 http://www.armoredhaulin.com
sodfamily Posted March 2, 2009 Author Report Posted March 2, 2009 Most of my installers went to Mobile Dynamics in AZ. That's what I was looking for. So would you recommend this school?
