Mustang Build Log- NEW VIDEO

that a1000 will pump out plenty of fuel and there is no such thing as a turbo thats too big.. if it doesn't spool fast enough, just add some nitrous to help spool it up then have the cut off rpm at whatever the turbo makes boost at

Yeah I could do that, but I really don't want to put nitrous back on the car, I just got tired of all the plumbing and wiring. If it's too laggy, I'll just throw together a 408 for it. I want to try a small combustion chamber, 10:1 compression deal, so that the car gets out better under low boost. There are a lot of people having good success with higher compression and lower boost for better response time, they just don't like pump gas very much.

ARE you intercooling.???

The two step is cool, dumping the raw fuel to get the turbo spinnnig.

You will like the 10.1 better, for everyday driving.. That way it is not just a boost bitch.

You have a great start and once you decide to step up in cubes you will be set..

(Quick dream motor, 408-434 Dart block + O-ringed canfield or Yates Heads + F,A,S,T, injection + your turbo = 1000 ponies) :spiteful:

There has always seems to be two ways to build a motor.

1) build the most efficent Natural aspirated as you can get, then spray or boost a little.

2) build a turd and spray or boost the shit out of it.

I have always found Number 2 to be cheaper...LOL...

Yes, I have a 4" core air-to-air unit in front of the radiator, I just havn't fabbed up the 3" aluminum piping yet. Pics to come soon....

You should be good for 10.1 then

Since it is a stocker it might not hurt to fab up a vacum pump and plumb it into the pan, will help these rings seal a little better.

Boy, for someone as knowledgable about what kind of HP cast pistons will take, I would think that you would know what a carbereted intake manifold looks like. :)

Yeah, I f-ed up on that one. I saw the intake on the first picture and didn't even see an intake in the other pictures.

Either way, I wish you the best.

Made the turbo manifolds out of flipped stainless shorty headers. Welded on v-band flanges for better sealing.

Had to cut off the sway bar mount for clearance

Made a sandwich support flange for the turbo. This way I can unbolt the turbo, or the crossover independantly.

Nice car man, a stroked 460 will get you that power on all motor and save you some $$.

I am in the motor, turbo, and all periferalls less than $1,500.

A decent 514ci rotating assymbly would cost more than that. Hell, a decent set of big block ford heads is $2,500 by themselves.

Plus, I still have way more room in the engine compartment than with a big block, even after all the turbo plumbing. Have you ever tried fitting a good set of 2 1/8" primary headers on a 460 in a foxbody? It's not fun.
