takenotes101
i have an enclosure that is 23" tall x 23" wide x 38" deep for 1 18" lvl 4 xl. My box has 45s in every corner and is also braced. Should i buy some resin and just coat the whole inside of it to seal the pores in the wood? would it be worth buying any fiberglass sheets or is that really just for strength and support. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. It definitly wouldnt hurt to glass the inside of the box. Itll strengthen the box and make it less likely to break Quote Team gg Team doa Installs I have doneMy 2010 Rebuild 144 db so far....2 DC xl 10s Firing into cabin on a RF 25002 12" AQ HD's powered by a Saz 2k + Lots o Mids+Highs
Pioneer~Saturn
If you have large, unsupported walls a nice thick layer of fiberglassing (with mat) will help out there...but if everything is stout and supported you could do a nice smooth coating on the inside to seal everything up n such Quote Team Tupperware <First dual-alternator 'real' Saturn (pre-2002) on the planet>(3) 15" Fi SP4's fed by (2) M3a's strapped @ .66712.75 cubes net @ 25Hz with 200 sq inches of port area (lowz...?)Stock alt position (custom bracket) 225 amp Mechman Roof = steel and fiberglass (u mad?)(2) XS Power D3100's, (2) rhino batts, No battery upfront (for now, smh)4 power+ 4 ground runs of 1/0-gauge to rear"If its been done before...you're doing it wrong" : ) "stfu about scores and float $hit..." Pretty much anywhere, yea...both those will have it back near the epoxy's, glues, etc. Quote Team Tupperware <First dual-alternator 'real' Saturn (pre-2002) on the planet>(3) 15" Fi SP4's fed by (2) M3a's strapped @ .66712.75 cubes net @ 25Hz with 200 sq inches of port area (lowz...?)Stock alt position (custom bracket) 225 amp Mechman Roof = steel and fiberglass (u mad?)(2) XS Power D3100's, (2) rhino batts, No battery upfront (for now, smh)4 power+ 4 ground runs of 1/0-gauge to rear"If its been done before...you're doing it wrong" : ) "stfu about scores and float $hit..." Zade08
I did a single layer of chop and resin on the inside of my ox and definatly noticed a smoother sound. Im starting a new box build on Wednesday but will not be glassin it as its super fuckin messy and not worth the results to me. Plus it aint cheap. 45s and bracing seem to serve me well enuff. Like I said I did notice a nice smoother sound in the bass though. Quote Vehicle: 2001 Ford Escape Head Unit: Kenwood Kdc-x592 All out for a rebuild. New shit coming in the next 30 days. takenotes101
i think i will just put a nice coating of resin in there, no fibeglass matt or anything of that sort. Is there no point in doing resin and no mat?

Zade08
No it would definatly help with sound proofing the box and like i said youl notice a smoother sound. I just done think it is worth the extra money (about 40 bucks for a quart of resin and 2 packs of matt) since I go through enclosures like I do underwear. If you do it get the clth though and just cut squares to cover each wall. It will come out some much easier than trying to put chop down.
