The owner does have three Crown Macro-Reference amplifiers. And in regard to 'overpriced tube amps', I would literally sell every item I own to have one of those amplifiers and a set of reference drivers. The natural power tube compression and supply sag on those amplifiers is bested by none.

Cheers,

Mick

You could do way better for way less.

Why not IB?! Every true audiophile knows IB > All in home theater!!!!!!!!!

If you look good at the pictures, you can see that none of the amps is connected.

And 6mil is a bit of overkill for a home theatre, but my opinion.

Thinking is the root of all problems...

You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

Neither is any of the speakers.

I guess he took pictures of it without the wires to make it less cluttered?

Or, he's a moron, and he doesn't really use it, but has it for show? xD

You could not be more wrong. While infinate baffle does have several advantages over other designs, it has major drawbacks as well. For example, I have matched the output of eight Kilomax 18" drivers in a true 'IB' design with a single Meyer 650P, in both output and low frequency extension. The Meyer also possesed a far more linear response curve without processing. Also, many people detest the unharmonic noise that comes from high excursion that bleeds through with ease under 'IB' design.

Mick

i was just thinking, and if he's the kind of guy who earns that kind of money, what are the chances he has enough time to use that for more than the occasional movie a few times a year? excess for the sake of excess
