Of course there are loud sealed systems. Sealed boxes can get very loud, they're just (generally) not as efficient as ported enclosures. Though they can in fact, handle more power, and they have more punch to their bass lines. I personally love the sound of a well built sealed enclosure with a set of good quality drivers.

what would be a good sub for a sealed enclosure? I noticed you have level 4's in a sealed enclosure, and from looking on the DC site, the 4 and 4xl say n/a for sealed enclosures.. is there any particular reason for this?

my friend has 2 12 DC Level 4 in a sealed box and well pretty much all youll hear are jus low notes like 25-35Hz the rest is real quiet

The sub has to be designed for a sealed application in order for it to have that wide range. Pay attention to the q when your building the enclosure. I'm on my blackberry otherwise I'd explain better.

I put a diamond audio tdx 15 in a sealed box with a Concept 2400a pushing it. Sounded great and hit really hard and not just on the low notes, It had our tools jumping off the roof of the car.

That sub is made for sealed though. 1-3 cubic feet. I wish I would have metered it before we took it out.

Good subs for a sealed enclosure have a floppy suspension, expressed as a low Q and high Vas in the TS parameters. Could you post a link to the spec sheet?

Drivers good for a ported box have a higher Q and lower Vas.
