I have known about the wax in some resins...even some that I use...and never bothered with sanding anything that didn't need it for aesthetic reasons or to smooth out airflow over a surface...and never had an issue with it. Roughin it up wouldn't hurt and should help with adhesion between layers but seriously In a spare tire well it has the spare tire well for support along the outer/bottom surface so it doesn't even really make that much diff if the layers are perfect or not. Just build it strong, and "clean it up" where folks will see, but don't kill your back bending over the trunk to sand something that really aint gonna make a lick of diff when it's all said & done...maybe some OCD/GP2k2 peace of mind knowing it's "perfect" between layers....But I would just throw a few more layers over it and make sure it's plenty strong. Thats what'll really matter. The Performer Posted April 20, 2009 Report Share Posted April 20, 2009 the wax is in the resin, not just the top of the layer. if you work with a bonding resin you will find out it is almost impossible to sand the sandpaper will stick to the resin instead of straching the surface when sanding a resin with wax in it I'll be damned, I'd never knew that/ or ever had that happen. Eh, eitherway, the way I work with glass is tried and true, so I'll stick to it. CERTIFIED BITCHES!!! Not being new at something doesn't mean anything.
