BanginOnABudget Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 is it cheaper to recone a FI, DC or an RE? since im on such a tight budget i cant buy "NEW" subs so ima hafta buy blown ones, whats better in the long run?? Quote im taking out my passenger seat, battery is disconnected, going to unwire and take out the three amps, take out the 70+ lb box, then the platform so i can crimp 1 wire. n8ball2013 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 they are all going to cost about the same. i would really just keep saving and get new ones or lightly used. Its going to be almost the same price as a new one Quote THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger.
Zade08 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Thats true. unless you know how to recone a sub yourself by time you buy the motor pay for the shipping and send it in to recone it you could have bought a new one in half the time. If your lookin to save a few bucks just buy a lightly used one and youl be fine. Quote Vehicle: 2001 Ford Escape Head Unit: Kenwood Kdc-x592 All out for a rebuild. Zade08 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 I say Fi or DC unless you can get a blown or working re mt motor from some where. Also look at the sundown nightshades. Bad ass subs. n8ball2013 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 honestly alot of people will not sell you recone kits unless you are an authorized dealer or they feel comfortable with your knowledge of reconing. I know id rather pay someboyd to do it instead of roasting another sub because i thought I could handle it.
