Should I Ground The Alt Bracket? (pix Inside)

I'm trying to finish up my dual alt setup (just waiting for UPS to drop off my small pulleys) but in the mean time im thinking I should run a ground from my batt to my alt bracket, what do you think? ALSO, my dual alt bracket is powdercoated, and I checked with my DMM, and the only way to complete a curcuit is my touching the bolt heads on the bracket, is this going to be an issue with the second alt that will be hung there? Or should I connect the ground to this bracket, with will allpy a better ground to the stock aluminum alt bracket? Please, someone help me here.....Thanks

Run a ground cable straight from the alternator housing to the negative terminal of the battery.

the installers grinded around the bolt holes on my bracket to make sure the alts were grounding properly

Yes, we just press a grounding lug into the case to make it easier. That way you don't have to enlarge the hole, or get a longer mounting bolt.

Even if you grind the paint off the brackets, there are still many mating surfaces (alt to bracket, bracket to head, head to block, block to frame, etc...) that could possibly cause resistance. Running a cable straight from the alt to the negative terminal gaurantees that you have a good connection. The difference may or may not be noticable, but it pays to be thourough.
