Omg! Please Help

My battery light turned on and so did my brake light. last week at idle i was at 14.4 volts tonight when my lights came on i went home open the hood and at idle im at 12.3 volts. wtf!!!! i just got this alternator like 1 1/2 month ago. im freaking out did the car audio place i went to screw me over because they do some crazy stuff and i wouldnt see how they could mess this up. im going crazy please help

2 Alpine type x's

2 pairs of Alpine type r components

head unit Alpine 9884

225 amp alternator made by Stinger

1 Kinetik Hc 2000 up front

1 Kinetik Hc 2400 in trunk

1/0 guage everywhere except from the amps to the distro. block is 4 guage

Sounds like you smoked the alt

Well, make sure you check the most common things first. Fuses under the hood that controll charging system. Sometime, certain cars/trucks will use "Fusable Links" see if you use those, and check to see if there burned. When you tried all those ideas, take the alt off, and bring it to a "Auto Electric shop" to test the alt, these types of shops are much more knowlegdable then autozone, discount auto, etc.....

Definately sounds like alternator failure... don't feel bad! I went through 3 different voltage regulators on a 240amp alternator kit before I got one that worked... One simple order turned into a 3 month drag on... Boy it was a headache... Ending up returning the alternator because the vreg I purchased failed AGAIN for the 4th time 2 days after running the car.. might have been a bad batch! I don't know, wish you the best of luck senor, by you purchasing it locally atleast you don't have to go through all of the shipping waiting returning etc..

Most likely an alternator failure. I have H/0 alternator install for less than a year and it went dead. Vehicle couldn't ever start so i had to replace it with stock. It went dead and most of the electrical have been use by the battery. I would send it back if you got warranty. SOmetime check to see if any wire came losse or battery terminal. A lose wire or connection can cause failure alternator too.
