tristan560
Ok currently running 5 amps(ones in my sig), 2 sub amps, 3 four channels...of an alpine 9886 with 2 sets of normal preouts, and one set of sub preouts...all 4v. Right now i have them ran into the input on one amp and then the preout from that amp to the next...iff you get that. So basically im using the preouts on the amps alot...how bad is the voltage gonna suck being split up that many time? Would it help to look into a line driver or something along those lines? jvillefinest
it might help looking into a line driver, but, when i was running all my JL amps i had three 500/1 daisy chained together and didnt have any problems. Are you experiencing any problems? Forevrbumpn
a line driver, or EQ with F/R/S outs with a specified voltage would be nice. Worked many times for me but you are losing signal strength splitting it that many times, there should be more potential than what you are hearing now Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. tristan560
Ok i dont really know much about line drivers but it looks like they put out around 8v...my alpines are only rated at 4v max input...am i going to hurt them but giving them 8v? Guest KyleCannon
No... the higher the output RCA voltage the less system noise. A line driver can only help. http://www.audiocontrol.com/t34/5249/14164...ine-Driver.html That's what I have and it's a great product! jvillefinest
i have heard/read that putting to much output voltage to an amp can burn it up. Stephen
i have heard/read that putting to much output voltage to an amp can burn it up. meh depends on the amps input range. Quote you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. SubSonic
If your head unit Pre Amp is low, and your slpitting it that many times, u need a LINE DRIVER!! one from sound stream would be fine, and u can set the gain on the driver so it send a STRONGER RCA signal in which the signal will carry through all of your AMPS... Boon
Just use the gain on the line-driver to set it so you only get 4v to all your amps. 4v is heaps. If your amps are only rated to 4v and you stick 8v up them you risk cooking the input circuitry. Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
Got_Bass89
Don't see how your loosing much by doing in and out of amp... Should be same signal... If you split one side to amp and the other to another you will loose but.. Also most amps with take up to 9v preout voltage so 8v is pretty safe.. You will still see improvement in 8volts positively Quote Passport Build Here Alarm: Prestige APS997A 2-Way/Remote Start HeadUnit: Pioneer DEH-P6000UB Front Battery: Yellowtop Optima D34/78 Back Battery: 2x C&D Technologies High Rate Series UPS12-475FR 134AH Subs: 2x DC Lv4XL 18's Amps: 2x Sundown Saz1500's Strapped Box: 12Cubes 33hz 185sqin Port(15.4sqin per cube) Pillars: AudioBahn AS31Q Front Doors: Clif Designs TX40.5 Back Doors: Clif Designs CD50.4C Rear Speakers: Clif Designs TX46.5 Front/Rear Amp: Kicker ZX350.4 Back/Pillars Amp: Kicker ZX200.2(Looking for another zx350.4) Electrical: 1/0 Scorpion Wire 2 Runs Pos and 2Runs Ground, Knu 1/0 Flex Running to Amps ect, Big 3, JL 8Ga For Speaker Wire, Knu Karma RCA's, Scorpion Volt Meter Deadener: 100 sqft Sound Destroyer Mat And SECOND SKIN Damplifier Pro Door Pack
