Wire Sizes

Recommended Posts

the search button fails me.

could someone give me a general rule of thumb for wire sizes.

right now I am using 10 gauge on my 18" sub.

should I step it up to 8?

does the size of the driver matter?

what about tweeters?

and mids?

i have 12g running my doors (iirc 200 watts ), 18g for my tweeters on the pillars (off hu), 8g for my subs(1k rms each, will be the same with 1500 rms),1/0 for power seems to be fine.
