when the windows are down all ur doing is porting the vehicle making the sound of the subs louder

edit: what ive always noticed is more windows down the louder it sounds because of the simple fact that ur allowng for more air to be moved

At competitions you do windows up to create as much pressure on the meter as you can.

Not always true, some vehicles gain with a window down, depending on mic location. In usaci (mic in the kick) on the passenger side in my 2005 ford explorer with the drivers window down its louder then any other configuration.

I think it depends on what class your in. With the meter on the windshield, mine is louder with windows up. I havent tried it in the kick panel yet.

so if i ever meter my truck do windows down?

No i wouldnt unless it calls for it the loudest my truck was, was with the driver door open in Bassboxing, But with both doors open i actually lost db's, but to the ear most likely will be louder windows down

but each vehicle is going to react different as no two builds are the same
