dwz Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Hey all.. I'm still new to car audio so there's a question I haven't figured out yet. It's a stupid question, sorry. Would taking out my spare tire help it to be louder? As far as i know there's a jack in the spare wheel well as well as a tire, and I'm pretty sure the jack is rattling in the trunk. The well has a cover that is pretty thin... would a box being on top of this end up just resonating in the wheel well and make the notes sound like shit? Or would that extra space end up helping the bass? Thanks

Thanks i highly doubt you would ever notice any difference... unless there is no cover on the well.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/79921-rogers-700-dream-car-update-page-17-a-wall/?p=2335774 93 Saturn SC2My system4 SA-15's Walled 2 Cerwin-Vega S2000's 3 Kinetik Hc2000's Dual 200amp alts. you guys done with the peepee touching contest or do I need to end it?

CaptainzPlanetz Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Lol na man its not gonna be louder but if it is rattling try this gett a towel and put it between the jack and any other surface it wont rattle now Or you could sound deaden the trunk that will give you alot less rattling and make your bass a lil louder. ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ Nightshade Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT take out the spare tire. The spare tire being in the tire well helps keep that particular weak spot in the car stronger. We've found on several occasions by taking the spare tire out that DB's have been lost. I'm not talking a couple of tenths but DB's. If the jack is rattling do your absolute best to tighten it back down with the bolts that are holding it into place. Also tighten the spare tire down as tight as you can get it. Any rattle or vibration from that area will definately hurt your spl. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz
