hey guys im still having voltage problems in the truck 2002 blazer 4dr with a 4.3L, right now i got a 160amp alternator(AD244 case) and 2 yellow top batteries everything in knu flex 0 guage, battery grounded thru the body and right on the frame in the back and a pro series MLA running at the 15.3 and if i turn the system up to 28 out of 35 the truck dimms HARD like into the 12s while im driving (gains set with a o-scope). im running a t20001bd(1ohm) and a t8004, and in the future im gonna be running 380c Viair compresser. . .

am i gonna need to replace the battery out back with something bigger or add a second alternator? any help will be appreciated

thx

What he said^^ the t2000 is pulling EVERY bit of your 160 amps from the alternator and more...that would be why it's dimming senor. Look at bigger group 31's if you can't get a bigger alternator right now

Nope....bigger batteries won't help...to stop the dimming get a larger alternator....the dimming is caused by your alternators maximum amperage output being lower that the current draw of your amplifiers.

If thats true why have alot of batteries like some do. im not doubting you but i dont fully understand that comment. because i bought a H/O at 200 amp and i have one battery and only a 2000 hifonics amp and my lights dim like crazy.

batterys only store the charge. they help a shit load but if you add a bunch of batterys and dont have enough charging power you'll still dim and get small volt. drops because your alt. cant keep up with the batterys. hope this makes sense

R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up.

I have same truck and about the same if not more amp. less batts. i was dropping to 12's before i put my Mechman 250amp in and stays up at 14.1 at full tilt at idle.

new alternator and your problem should be fixed...

ok but with 400amp for system and another another 20 or so for compress that 420amps and i only got 160amp alternator so in theory wouldnt i need something that could be close to 420 amps? so like really i would need like 2 200amp alternators right?
