I have listened to it up close and personal in one of the people I know's car before he got his shit jacked and then jacked again once he redid it. I dont have 13" of mounting depth or else I would be running them for the hell of it. That is what is keeping me from running one. I never said any fi sub was better sounding than a xxx, even if I did, it is just a matter of opinion anyway. My comment was on the 18''. I would make the same "general" statement about 18's from any company. I run 12's cuz I like decent transient response and tighter, punchier bass than I have EVER HEARD from an 18" sub. That's not to say it CAN'T be done, but I've never heard it done. 12's are smaller and thus apples to apples comparison wise, the 12 will have a tighter punchier sound in the same enclosure style. Thats my preference, you guys can have all 18's you want. Not to mention the price tag. Maybe If I won one in "the next SMD raffle" after the Fi Q's, or Chicken wanted to make a charitible DONATION for a tax right off, but still, I just prefer smaller subs. Its a beast and a masterpiece/work of art, I wish I had them in my front room on display, and thus I envy Ray and Mr. Autry over there. However it does not take that price to own one. 1,299.00 is the msrp on them yes. But that is also what is considered the highest acceptable price from a DEALER. They have to make their money too. But you can find them much cheaper if you take some time and look. I am not talking about internet dealers either which give no warranty. I am talking about finding a good dealer willing to work with you on a price. If you buy more than one item from a dealer...they will work a price more than fair. When I bought my two AX3000DE's and my two XXX's I got hooked up. Seriously. Stick with one local dealer for a few items and you will pay considerably below msrp. Right now the FI Q is the reasonable option for me unless I win the lotery or inhearit some mad $$$. But I would in a second rep those XXX and cover my truck in RE stickers and decals if RE cut me a deal. Livin in a dream world back to reality!
