Already have a case and rounded cables along with a CD-r and DVD drive. Thinking am3 though since Intel is so overpriced Yea, honestly the main reason I dropped the cash to go with the intel is future upgradbility.... I for sure wanted the gtx 285, and I want the ability to just grab another one for sli if I want some more power. wouldn't be that easy with AMD...Hope that you got the d0I do as well, but doesn't seem like quite as big of a deal as the q6600's etc... but then again it depends on who you listen to. Either way ill have all the processing power ill need.So uh... stuff comes today and im excited. meade916 Posted June 4, 2009 Report Share Posted June 4, 2009 great choice on the card......im rollin with 2 GTX 285 in SLI right now and my computer is NOT to be reckoned with LOL - i can play any game you put in front of me at the highest settings possible, even crysis and crysis warhead. from what i read, the 285 all by itself is more powerful then both my 8800gtx in SLI i used to run - and so far it SHOWS..... congrats from one computer nerd to another LOL! Why thank you mr meade. Yea, I saw your thread, looks pretty nice. I am pretty happy right now, I was just on crysis and I ran maxxed out settings with 8x AA and still was running 30 fps. The only problem is im running at 1600x900... which is the highest option... I need to figure out how to lift further... Makes me regret getting an alienware laptop almost... I will be with about 10 buddies over the weekend doing some lan Anyways, earlier I ran a quick 3dmark06 test... Just loaded stuff up on my old instalation of windows 7 32 bit ( so I can only use half my ram) and using whatever drivers it loaded up, and got a hair over 17k Later ill get stuff properly set up, and then later overclocked and see what this puppy can really do. And RAM... and than your going to want to SLI that card... And pretty soon, you'll be like all of us.... With tons of computer equipment, and an empty bank account. Thinking am3 though since Intel is so overpriced Intel is a little more expensive but IMO not overpriced, to me amd is for those 300-500 dollar builds and thats it. Mine cost 700 and i haven't regretted it since.
