I'm guessing a turbo vr6. I know for a fact its a vr6 and the power to weight ratio with that swap is crazy.

those cars gutted can weigh about 1500lbs, then a turbo vr6 swap can easily make 500whp. to thats only 3 pounds for every 1hp.

now for the supra to have the same ratio at stock weight it would need 1166whp, and the porsche is about the same

now you can see why the vw beat both cars soo easily

Those cars arent going all out. If you listen to their engines, you cant even hear them getting on it. I have driven a stock supra twin turbo and they pull MUCH harder then that. Same goes for the porsche. Im sure there was stuff done to the VW, but not as much as you think. They are just going slow and letting the VW take off.
