Luckly my cousin made the same mistake and got an Fi Q 12" D1, he ended up getting a Clarion DPX11551 which does 1550 at 2 ohms. Its a littler overpowering the Q but the BL would LOVE it. Its a great amp, ive got the same one but an older model pushing my 12" l7 It's a long story, involving me still not nowing much when i bought it and listening to a kid who i thought knew quite a bit, even though i prob knew more than him.. lol... But i've found the Kenwood 9104 i think it is.. Says it puts out 900 rms at 2 ohms.. Hell, even if it just did 700 watts i woul be more than happy.. Any thoughts on this amp?

It was a good temp amp after I sold the Z1 while I was waiting for the T4k. Kenwoods aren't powerful, stylish, or the cleanest sounding, but god damn they are tough. They have amazing protection circuitry. I'd get it but your prolly going to want to upgrade before too long. I'm not a big fan but I'd get a kicker amp. Only solid 2ohm mono blocks out there really that aren't massive internally bridged amps. There were some older 2 ohm mono block MTX amps that were solid as well. It's all gone! brewer_brewer Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 i know i throw this out there everytime an amp suggestion comes around but here it is again. still the best deal in my opinion out there right now. audioque 1200d. i've clamped mine at over 1200 watts on 13.7 volts at 1.2 ohms with clean signal and over 1300 on same voltage with a slight clip they are rated for 1200 at 14.4 at 1 ohm and 800 at 2 ohms. strong amps, have never gotten mine hot and i have never had a single problem with it. comes with a clip light too. Since you're trying to find surface area, i would assume you would use the equation length x width. So measure from the middle of the surround to the middle of the surround on the side opposite annd that's your width, and multiply that by 2 since your length is obviously going to be the same..
