FieroGrande
But whats so funny is that I got the Sub with no BOX..LOL I'm also wondering would it sound better with the box ported or not? It would be loud in a ported box no doubt! It all depends on what box you pit it in.
07mazda3s
Ported will be loudest, sealed with have best sound quality. Either way any solobaric is gonna be really loud. Power Acoustik fubar 12 sony xploding amp 2 ft^3 box @ 35hz

sean 371
Sealed doesn't always have the best sound quality. You can get just as much SQ out of a ported box, it's all in how you build it. And yes port them, for whatever reason solo barics don't perform too well in sealed boxes. A couple links to some box builds: Tahoe Box 1, Tahoe Box 2, Nissan Titan, VW GTI, Mini-Bump, Hummer H2, Ford F-150 My own car builds (current setup --- under construction): Overall Thread, Kickpods, Dash, Back Doors Subwoofer Wall
KickerAudio21
I have a looooooooot of experience with L7's and installing them in different vehicles... and I can tell you that they are very picky on sealed boxes. I think if you go sealed with them, the box needs to be on the bigger side like 2.5 cubes + and you need a loot of power to get it loud L7's ported are always good. They will suprise you with how loud they are. I put an L7 12 in my friends explorer with only 800 watts it hit 143.5 dB's!!!! on termpro with engine at idle. If you want amazing SQ , then use some persicion ports (aero ports). It will give it a tigher impact sound. ------------------------------------------------- 1st place circuit city car/spl show (maplewood,MN) 2006 146.6 dB's with 2 12" L7 and 1606d brutus

KickerAudio21
here is a vid of my single L7 15 note that this is the second day I had it so it isn't broken in and I have 4 layers of dynamat extreme on headliner. Now i can launch an empty gatorade bottle 2+ feet high from my roof flex since it's broken in and i can push it more. ------------------------------------------------- 1st place circuit city car/spl show (maplewood,MN) 2006 146.6 dB's with 2 12" L7 and 1606d brutus
