I have been thinking of buying 2 T4001 amps, I have 2 T2001 now if I add 2 more T2001 and ran them at 1.4 ohms vs 2 T4001 at .7 ohms which would get more power out? 4 T2001 or 2 T4001.

1'd say the 2 4001

I would have to say the 2 T40001bd the rate of power consumption would be less as if you were to run 4 T20001bd. Not to mention the wireing would be easer!

According to RF, the average actual power output of a T2000 is 2800w and the T4000 is 4500w @ 1ohm. So by using 2 smaller amps you'll get 5600w compared to 4500w @ 1ohm. I know you said that the T4000 will be running at 0.7ohms compared to the pair of T2000s at 1.4ohms so in this case the single T4000 should provide more power. Is it possible to strap the pair of T2000s and run them at 1.4ohms so that they'll actually see 0.7ohms each?

no i dont think so. plus the efficiency thing they stated earlier and the wiring. itd just be better to get the 2 bigger amps.

Sure, if you get a dual 1ohm coil sub (which most of the time is actually dual .7ohm) Or maybe 2 dual 2ohm subs which usually have coils that are 1.4ohm. Just wire them in parallel, although with impedance rise the dual 1ohm sub (fully loaded BTL) would be the better route.

I agree with Slinky about getting the 2 bigger amps though.

isnt it true when you strap the t20001bd's together your not supposed to go below 2ohms?

Yes, but with impedance rise from your strapped amps will rarely see below a 2ohm load especially with 2 subs on each pair of strapped T20001's
