durango stock systems

ok im not sure if im diong something wrong or not. so ill explain here.

i have a 00 durango with the infinity system. with my stock hu my doors were decently loud...well i hooked up my hu and i have to turn my volume up all the way to have it to where it was with my stock hu. i have never had this happen, usually with after market hu and speakers its better not worse. anybody ever install a unit and have this problem with a durango?

maybe your stock hu had a lowpas or highpass and your am headunit is sending the full signal thru and its distorting your speakers?

Try lowering the bass/treble

the infinity speakers are 2ohm... could the impedance have anything to do with it?

this is more of a question because however i dont think it would matter

make sure you hooked up the remote wire to the factory amplifer(the infinity's have their own amp)

^^this my dakota has a amp comparable to the kicker I have powering my pos 8's kinda sad .

just a side note, every time i was told when i put a aftermarket hu in a car or truck with factory amps was to bypass the factory amps n go str8 to the speakers?

do any of yall do this? this comes up to how does around 22wrms goin into an amp not fry it?

i don't believe he would need to bypass the factory amp since it is only 22 watts but if you decide to add another amp for the doors then definately bypass the infinity amp(you can cut and splice or buy a harness) unless you want to just rewire everything

i checked all of my settings everything is good. before i just bypassed the factory amp and used an aftermarket amp, but right now i dont have one and need some tunes so i decided id put in my hu so i could use my ipod. i guess i can bypass the factory amp and wire the doors to the hu.im sure it will sound better anyway.
