1992Chevy K1500 Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 I was browsing the automotive section of walmart for a good set of cupholders. Anyway, I just looked up and seen a batttery. I thought it said somewhere along the lines of 100 amp/hours. I don't exactly have good eyesite so I went over to look at it. The label claims 125 amp/hours. I figured that it couldn't do what it claimed and decided to look closer at it. I went to pick it up, thinking that it can't be that heavy. I mean, come on, it's a on a walmart shelf. When I picked it up...well, let's just say I almost bought it. It came up off the ground a few inches and I dropped it. That thing was heavy. Judging by the weight, I would say the label was pretty accurate. So anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about this battery. Does it output what it claims? I know it's not the best, but I don't have the money to drop on a kinetik and I plan on getting a new amp before a kinetik. What I really want to know is, would this battery suffice until I could afford a kinetik? I plan on getting a Crunch GPV2000.1 or equivalent next time I purchase an amp. I plan on using a battery on only the subwoofer amp for now. BTW, I only have a limited $150-200 dollar a month budget (depending on gas prices), so it's really hard for me to afford high end equipment. These batteries are only about $90 or so. That price hurt my pocket book and I didn't even buy one. :01nocomment8so: And I was looking at the one's on onlinecarstereo.com, which I've heard has the cheapest prices on kinetik. I was thinking that I shouldn't run a battery that outputs less than my system needs. But now I'm starting to change my thinking. I was just wondering, cause like I said, it was heavier than I expected. I don't know if it does what it claims but in a direct swap with an optima yellowtop I have seen noticeable improvement in my voltage and drop. IMO pretty good for the price...depending on how long it last. raw754 Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Odyssey makes a good battery... Check with local battery companies - they may have a line that will suit you(Dry Cell, etc..) Just my .02...
