Watercooled Gaming Pc: Qx6800 And 8800ultra @ Sli

Recommended Posts

  • 1 month later...

I finally continue the build.

I was waiting for the Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad QX6800 (4x2.93Ghz) and the good news is: it comes this week! :D

There only will be 2500 pieces send around the world, and 1500 are for North America, so it is hard to get one here in Holland...

The postman brought me the rest of the stuff today:

Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680i

Corsair 2x1GB DDR2 SDRAM PC6400 CL4.0 TwinX Pro (with activity leds)

Nvidia GeForce 8800Ultra 768MB

Samsung DVD-/+/RAM SH-S182M 18x/18x/8x

Samsung DVD-ROM SH-D162C

Western Digital 74GB SATA150 16MB Raptor

Western Digital 320GB SATA300 16MB

Every piece is in place now, only the CPU and watercooling tubes still to do...

Also put the 8800 on a diet B)

I have only 1 8800 Ultra now, a second one will come in the future, but it's a little too expensive for me right now

Build that cooling block on the gpu was not too difficult, but the origiginal cooler didnt came off easy.

They use some kind of tape with cooling shit on and it hold the cooler strong on the card.

A little wrecking and *#*@@### was enough to remove it haha.

The bad news now is that my QX6800 will not come this week anymore.

Maybe the end of the month, the shop where i ordered it from says that is hard to get one...

I hope i didnt take too long, they allready have my $1500
