i havent fastened it yet but now that i see what it looks like i think i will fasten it from the inside out. edit: after looking at my own pics, i might not be able too fasten the top part of the port from the inside out. I might have to put the bolts back in it. DAMN! Maybe i can come up with a different way. Ill look at it tomorrow when i go out there.

Just an idea.....remove the vinyl you already laid on the port, bolt the port to the box making sure to drive the bolts below the surface so you can fill in the holes. Router grooves around the border of the port like you did around the center of it and lay the vinyl down again and tuck it like you did around the center. That way you'll still have a clean exterior w/no bolt holes.
