tristan560 Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 (edited) Ok so im trying to make my final decision on selling my 2 btl 18s and switching out to 4 ssd 15s. Im not looking to hit big numbers, just be a louder daily set up. Im thinkin more cone area, more motors...should be louder. But is quanity really over quality in this case? I just want some second opinions that im not making a terrible desicion. AI James Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 4 18s in 12 cubes isnt going to be the best scenario Quote
VistaV6 Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 12 cubes isn't enough for 4 18's is it? Quote SUCCESS is a decision, NOT a dream. You have to name the price you are willing to pay to get it. "You didn't have an ice pick on you? Amateur. " -- Wax from Fchat.

Nightshade Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 So your planning on going from 2 btl 18's to 4 ssd 15's? I think that's a good choice. The ssd is a very very good woofer especially for the super low price tag. Also your going to have 4 of them which is 706sqin of cone area comparred to 508sqin of cone in the 18's. The added voice coils and extra motor force should allow you to be quite a bit louder even off the same exact amount of power. You'll be able to push the ssd's closer to their xmax and they should move more air. I think that it would be a great setup to have. I've always wanted a 4 15 setup again in my ride and I'd definately choose the ssd's for the job. Good luck! tristan560 Posted August 21, 2009 Author Report Posted August 21, 2009 what's wrong with 2 18? Nothings really "wrong" with the 2 18's. ive just had that setup for awhile now and i feel its time for change. I just dont wanna lose anything by switching out to 4 15's Quote 99 Jimmy SLT 4WD Systemless. 99 Grand Prix GTP DC XL 12 on 1.5k tuned lowwwwww.
