GoldElks
I just installed 2 L5 15s dual 2. I use to have 2 CVR 12s and the L5s are just as loud if not softer. Both were in put in enclosures made be me. Here are my box specs for the L5s 11.5 cu ft. 35 hz and (this is what might have gone wrong) the port dimensions are 11x11x14. I think that comes out to 141 sq inches of port area, is this close or how off am i? Is the port too big or am i just no allowing enough time for the subs to be worn in? If you guys need anymore information about the subs just let me know. Thanks in advance. Edited August 22, 2009 by GoldElks

GoldElks
What kind of amp are you running? Box sounds a little big for two l5's I am running a Crunch 1500.1 at 2ohms and Kicker says the "VenterSPL/DeepBass (MaximumEnclosureVolume" for one L5 is 6 cu ft so i figured a little bit smaller wouldnt hurt. Torres
that is a HELL of a lot of port area. too much
kirill007
If 11=H and 11= witdh then you have 121sq inch of port area, not 141sq inch. You need a minimum of 138sq inch or max 184sqinch. So you're about 40sq inches short to be around optimum port area. Quote Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for. andym85
they need to be in 3-6 cubes...which u did...but if it were me, i would make a box that was about 3.5-4 cubes per sub...should give it more punch. or u can give them more power in that box...but i dont really like overpowering subs...
