one guy says that a blowthrough w/ the port firing into the rear of a seat will sound like shit, i say that it IS possible to make it sound good even firing towards the rear of a seat, especially since alot of blow through trucks are single cabs, and he says that a blowthrough firing towards seat backs will sound like a "shitty sealed box" i told him a ported box if propely built can sound sound better than a sealed but sealed is known to usually sound cleaner, then he says, ive played them side by side same sub and the ported walks all over it no doubt.... so who would you say is right? me or this dickhead?

neither of you win it depends on a lot of things for the box to sound shitty or good.

jack's is a blow-through and it sounds incredible very wide range.

I don't prefer anything to be firing into the bottom of the seat but you can still make it sound good

Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple

thats exactly what i said, i told him "anything is possible with enough time and money" and he has yet to respond

most of the time blow thrus are recessed, and in like a bandpass- box fully in the trunk, with room in front of the cones and port, and look like it would be calculated as a bandpass

why would you do a blow thru, sealed, or ported against a back seat? where would the sound go besides a good back massage?

I believe room between cone/port needs to be there between the seat and box

In my installer days, I have done so many single cab truck boxes that really seemed to sound great, but what I never realized is, mostly your just feeling it, over hearing it?

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

I feel ya homie. Its like comparing my car with the 18s- to an SUV setup like Steve/Nyman/P's explorer. In some aspects it sounds a lot better when there is a transfer function buffer between you and the woofers

I'm not sure if you mean the port extends past the cab wall and rests against the seat back? Cause my buddy's shop has done alot of port through's and they all have sounded excellent the port is flush with the cab wall and there is a little space between the port and seat back last one they did was for a fourdoor chevy 8 tens ported through and it is insanely loud and it fires into the back seat

I agree with this unless you can fold your back seat down.

Does SPL or SQ matter when firing a sub toward the seat..say one single sub toward the seat?

Im no expert but for sound quality it doesn't matter if you fire it into the back seat but for spl you dont want anything blocking sub or port
