I'm a little skeptical about 1k on the DD 8's daily... probably not super good for them.

Though they are incredibly beasty little subs.

Also a horn isn't ideal when overpowering your subs...

if i ran a horn id just get a 1500 from sundown if i ran 3 of them. And i wouldnt be constantly givin them the full 1k. Id probably give them about 700 daily. So maybe an AQ2200D for the amp.

And matt, YES WE DO!!!

woman..cant live with em...cant shoot em...guess were all fucked

You might be a Redneck if you use your leftover gutters for a speaker box port...

Psshh, why dont we go straight to some LVL5 8's, now imagine how that would look in a Plexi Box.

well considering that the motor structure is bigger than an 8 it would probably look like an empty box with an inverted woofer on it.

1 - E8's are discontinued.

2 - E8's are rated 200w rms.

I know theyre discontinued, i didnt know if anyone had any laying around they didnt want anymore. And ive seen vids on youtube of them takin way more power than 200. Seeing as how you have them, how do you like them

E8's are excellent lil woofers. there's a new stronger line coming out sometime from sundown as well. the E8's can take more power conservatively, but i dont think they can take what you're wanting to put to them daily. for burps, yes, but not daily.

I haven't hooked them up yet, still trying to finish the build. Initially I'll be driving them with 120watts. I might try to bridge the amp and see how they take 320watts. Not sure if they will like that or not, but I'll have to see.
