That includes sealing the rear deck. Also can I see how long your port wall is? You know I just love a big azz slot port box!!

thorshammer Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 Port looks to me to be 9in wide correct? To be around 121sqin it would have to be 13.5in tall which would be 121.5. Now I had a box identical to that same port sized everything. For me to get tuning around 43 once in vehicle I had to have first port wall 12in, 2nd port wall 16.5in. When I watched that vid it looked like the port was short as hell to me. As far as the rear deck. You need to seal it with dynamat,second skin, etc.. so that no air can return into the trunk. This is huge! Once this happens you will see a dramatic difference. Right now you have a shit ton of pressure that pushes back around the box and gets lost in the trunk which shows poorly on the meter. Do you have dimension of the box?

I believe the dimensions are 13.5" high, and looking at the video 40 inches wide, and no idea on depth. treo will get back to you tonight with the true dimensions. formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. thorshammer Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Treo the more I look at the box the more i have to question the tuning. Can you get me exact measurements? If I'm right you should be burping well in the 50's and you are always playing under tuning. I know I could be wrong here but my guts screaming at me. lol Also, what makes my box successful with such a big port is tuning it in the vehicle. I start with an overly long port wall and cut it .5in after every burp until it peaks out. Then I go past it watch to see the score go down and then recut another one slightly longer than where it peaked and start again to make sure I'm seeing the same results as before. I leave it .25 longer than needed then do my roundovers and apply lots of resin inside the box and outside. On average I've shown .5 gain by resining box.
