Hunters21w
Just got some DD 3500 motors and apparently they were glued on. How do I take off the basket without damaging the motor? thanks Quote 06 Police TahoeHU- Pioneer 80prsAmp- Crossfire 8kSub- 4 15" Crossfire xs v2sWire- 1/0 Knu/AudiotechnixAlt- 3 Mechman SMD 340sBatts- 6 XS Power 3100s, 2400

wL<3bass
When I took the bent 15" basket off my RE SE 15 I just removed the machine screws and GENTLY pried the bask from the motor with a large Flathead screwdriver. Forevrbumpn
if the glue is really stuck on there, and a mallet - not hammer- Mallet doesnt work, use a heat gun where its mounted to the motor, and then hit with the mallet upwards Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. Forevrbumpn
also acetone usually works as a glue de-activator, but heat works as good as acetone Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". Hunters21w
alright thanks, ill give it a try. Shouldn't hurt the mag or anything right? or should i just apply a little to it and keep it from running down? Forevrbumpn
acetone dries almost instantly, as long as thinned out glue does not run in to the coil gap, your fine I would try the heat gun first, or run a few passes with a blow torch if you have one Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". Boon
DD put some soft rubbery glue between the motor and basket to stop the basket 'ringing' You just have to break the seal and it'll pop right off. Thin flathead, chisel, that kind of thing. The top-plate is steel so go for gold, it's pretty tough. If you're not re-using the baskets then you can get pretty crazy on them too.
