lol at this thread...fix it and move on. I've seen much worse than this from the so called custom shops that people swear by.

as far as working there, experience there is better than nothing, and you only have to do like 3 cars a day or something by a policy. I know my techs do 3 cars before finishing their morning coffees, so if you're good you could have a whoooollleee lot of time to read hustler in the bathroom and wander around the store. But most specialty shops do look down on bestbuy, and bestbuy does send a lot of the more difficult or uncommon stuff to a real shop (i've had days when theres a lamborghini, 09 corvette, and a porche sitting in our parking lot. You would never see any of those cars sitting in a bestbuy bay for ANYTHING. )

and 07sonata, shes getting hotter cuz theres now a lot more protein in her vegan diet, lol.

Sounds like they just didn't want to work on your car. If I have asshole know-it-all customers, I'll tell them we're all booked and send them packing. having 1-2 installs walk doesnt matter when you're still running 3-400% budget every day.

ZOMG, I totally forgot about Plank. He was our fourth installer, Lived in my tool box. Always there to lend a hand with cars hoods that did not want to stay up lol.

A lot of them suck, However a lot are good. Same with custom shops(i.e. 98Hoeonsixes last 2 installs FTL before david came to the rescue FTW)

Sense I no longer work there, nor does the old lead Pat, I would not trust them to plug in a GPS or escort......(see last post about CUSTOM by9s)

Someone said above about the difference between customer cars and your own, it's so true!

Customer cars it's everything nicely hidden, wires all zip-tied, everything FIXED in place... you know how it goes.

Yet my personal installs tend to be all spaghetti and mess... then again a customer install has to last as long as the car does whereas I'm in there messing around with my install every couple of weeks (if not days!) so it's hard to get motivated to do everything nicely when you know you're just going to rip it out.

We did a couple Bentleys in my old store in orlando, People are willing to come here because they dont want to let some mom and pop "custom" stereo shop touch their $300k+ car. If Best Buy messes up that car we can afford to get it fixed, 9 out of 10 other shops couldn't, and would most likely be put out of business.

Well its not Best Buy. But ABC Warehouse told me I wouldnt be able to run 1k watts on my stock alt. I did it. Easily.

Also told me I couldnt fit a 15 in my friends Camaro. Did it.

And these guys actually knew their shit compared to some of the local shops around here. I can walk into any of those shops and have the guys at the counter scratching their head in a few minutes. I think it bothers them that im just a kid and this is their job.
