How much can a Level 3 take?

Recommended Posts

I think that I have my heart set on an AQ 1200D. I'm also really liking the DC Level 3's. I want to run 2 10's, but only plan on running a single 10" for a while (I've already got the enclosure for a single 10"). I was thinking of going with a dual 4 ohm Level 3, that way when I get a second one I can run them at 1 ohm off the 1200D (I did figure that correctly, didn't I?).

Anyway, will the Level 3 take the 870 watts that the 1200D is rated at for 2 ohms? This will be in a daily driver.

It should as long as you properly set the gains.

My comp setup (Not bad for what it is):

HP Compaq Presario V6120US laptop with:

15.4" widescreen

AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz processor

2x1GB stick DDR2 SDRAM (667 Mhz)

Seagate Momentus 500GB SATA HDD

128MB shared video memory

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

12 cell Lithium Ion battery (actual battery usage time: 6 hours)

What it does:

Well, I'm getting an MTX RFL600D (thanks, tech2332). So if I decide to go with the Level 3, which I'm pretty sure I will, then I should be fine. I'll run it sealed for a while, then probably get a nice ported box made.
