shooter69
my friend is CONVINCED that since his battery is pretty small ('89 grand am) he NEEDS a capacitor. his amp is pullin 450 watts at 4 ohms... i told him a capacitor wouldnt help him that much... am i tellin him wrong? ChevyBoy
no youre telling him right. has he done the big 3? if so, get a new battery/alt combo.
BigOso
Tell him to get a bigger batt for under the hood or get a bigger alt. I don;t really see the need for either seeing as hes only using 450rms. 2006 SPLMAX Bass Race Competitor of the Year 2006 Bass Race 156 points Team DC Sounds Team Maxxsonics Team HR Team Second Skin Team Hooker Audio http://dcsoundlab.com/ 2006 Bass Race 156 points 2008 Starting from scratch

shooter69
thats exactly what i told him.... 450 is really working his battery at all. but his reasonings for wanting a capacitor is that he found out he blew a fuse last night and said it was because his amp is tryin to draw too much power.. i told him he doesnt know what the fuck he's talkin about and i've sat in his car and the lights never dimmed, even while shut off. he's also told me that his friend had a small battery too and that he got a capacitor to protect his speakers. i've seen his friends system and it only pullin about 800 watts-- if that --. but anyway, like i said, he is positive a capacitor will keep him from blowing his fuses (even though he's only blew one. and that was the 40amp fuse on his sub) (1)Fi BTL 15 (1)AQ 2200d 4.33 Cubes~33hz Big Three done XS 1200 in the back
